CellPhoneAds.com Helps Advertisers Reach Opt-in Mobile Subscribers
Orange County-based mobile messaging company, SMS Media Group, launches CellPhoneAds.com to help advertisers reach mobile subscribers.
With over 276 million U.S. wireless users, only 26 million have iphones, compared to the 244 million non-iphone users, according to the latest research findings by CTIA. More than 160 million people in the U.S. are on a text-messaging plan and the average texter is 38 years old.
SMS offers advertisers the greatest reach by letting them tap into hundreds of millions of mobile users with a simple 160-character message.
In comparison, mobile Web/WAP reaches 54.5 million wireless users, according to the Kelsey Group. If you're dedicating a significant amount of your marketing budget to the iphone or mobile web and not including SMS as part of your overall mobile strategy, you are missing out on the majority of the wireless marketplace.
While companies like AdMob and AOL are serving up advertisements on the mobile web/WAP, Orange County-based SMS Media Group delivers SMS advertisements directly to the wireless user's inbox. Ninety-five percent of text messages are read within five minutes because the user is alerted upon receipt.
SMS Media Group's clients have experienced a redemption rate as high as 25% on campaigns. "We have demographics such as gender, age, and geo on most of our databases which lets us target campaigns based on the advertiser criteria," says Sheri Wells, CEO of SMS Media Group.
Ms. Wells is recognized as one of the leading SMS messaging experts in the world, and has launched text messaging campaigns and applications in over 200 countries for major media brands and government agencies including Reuters, Nielsen, and the BBG.gov.
